Getting in on the Action

Poor Zoe has been on her back, missing out on the world passing by for the first 5 months of her life, but no longer! Yesterday her lovely Aunty Julie solved this problem with the purchase of a rocker that allows Zoe to sit up and get in on the action around her. It is already proving to be very useful.

Yesterday I heard Zoe screaming from the lounge room while I tried to hang out some washing. Now the washing is not going to wait forever and neither is Zoe. I was driving myself crazy until I remembered the rocker. I strapped her in and let her sit at the back door watching me. She had a great time and laughed more than ever before in her short life.

You can clearly see that Zoe is besotted with her big sister. She was watching her every move and laughing as Malia ran back and forth, between her and Gizmo, our 15 year old 'puppy'. Malia takes the job of making Zoe laugh very seriously.

When the rocker first arrived we all thought it was motorised but it wasn't. We were disappointed as we thought a self rocking chair would take a little pressure off us. Through all of this though a beautiful opportunity presented itself. Malia has taken it upon herself to perform 'rocking duty' and has already managed to get Zoe to sleep 2 or 3 times in the first 2 days. Daddy says the chair isn't battery powered, it's love powered. Awwwwwwww. It's always so heart warming to hear daddy say this sort of thing.

So the chair is a big hit. If she will just do as I ask and stop growing up so fast then hopefully she will be able to use it for quite a while. I cannot believe she is already 5 months old. Where did that time go? To think that in another 5 months she will be sitting up, playing and saying her first words is a little overwhelming. I can't wait, but I can. Any parent will know what I mean, I'm sure.
