Tropical Booties to Brighten Our Day

I spend far too much time on the Nappy Addicts forum, but I just can't help it. I have met some lovely, talented ladies on there, one of whom made these tropical coloured booties for Zoe. They arrived yesterday at a time when I really needed to smile and boy did they do the trick. Cordu, the aforementioned lovely, talented lady who made the booties, offered to make these booties in a cotton knit after I expressed how sad I was that Zoe could not wear the wool ones she makes. Cordu even picked up the materials with us in mind as she knew how much I wanted a multi coloured pair.

As you can see, Zoe is quite happy relaxing in her booties and is definitely paying more attention to her feet with them on.

Being involved with this community of women on the Nappy Addicts forum has been an experience. Like in any group, people can occasionally get on one another's nerves or say the wrong thing, but they are always there to help you if you have a question or problem. They are a wealth of knowledge and experience when it comes to parenting, and of course cloth nappies!

I don't have the skill to make these things for my daughters myself and life has dealt us a heavy blow, taking away far too soon a loving grandmother and great grandmother who I know would have create things like this for them with much love. Lovely ladies like Cordu, the girls talented Aunty Heather, Kathy from Katnappies who has made many of Zoe's nappies and countless other Etsy sellers who we have bought handmade from help, just a little, to fill the void. Everyone should grow up having a pair of beautifully hand knitted booties, a cardigan, something from when they were a baby that they can look at and smile, marvelling at how small they once were and perhaps one day, put on their own babies.

Thank you to all the lovely ladies in our lives who have created our special things. We love them and we love you!
