A Photo Of My Baby Taken With My New Baby

Today I received a beautiful new lens, but nothing could be more beautiful than those deep brown eyes of Zoe's. Thankfully she sat still long enough for me to capture them today. She's growing up so fast and so lovely. Thank you God for such a beautiful daughter, full of happiness and light.

My Eat Like Me (13/3/03)

Breakfast
2 slices Burgen Bread Toast with egg (2) and tomato sauce. Mmmmmmmmmm!

Morning Tea

I accidently formatted the memory card of my camera before I uploaded the photo of dinner and I lost it. Sorry. It was yum though and I am STUFFED!

Sisters

Sisters love to do things together. They love to talk (over one another), watch movies (never the same one at the same time though), borrow (steal) each others clothes and brush (yank) each others hair. Zoe is a bit young for this, however Malia is already starting this process without Zoe's knowledge or consent. Malia tell's me it's ok to play with Zoe's toys, read Zoe's books and watch the movies specifically bought for Zoe. Oh boy, I think I can wait for the day Zoe picks up on all this and says that dreaded word................ no! Not that she can't already say it, she just uses sounds and expressions to get her point across. For example.......

Today Malia......

decided she want to brush Zoe's hair.

Not wanting to offend her sister I'm sure, Zoe politely stood up and walked away. Malia followed....

Zoe thought, "Hmmmmmmm, maybe if I show her I'm busy with something else she will go away and leave me alone".............

Not likely.

At this point Malia decided that all this moving around had to stop so she held Zoe in a loving embrace to keep her in place.......

Whether she liked it.......

or not.
Ahhhhh, the love between two sisters. It's, well, today it was relentless. Is that a good thing?

My Eat Like Me (10/3/09)

Another day, another set of meals. Photographing everything I eat is definitely an interesting experience. Every time I think about eating something I think about whether or not I really want to photograph it. If the answer is no, I don't eat it. Admittedly it's only been 2 days but I have high hopes that this will be effective longer term. I haven't touched any of the many, MANY varieties of chocolate that have managed to find their way into our house in one way or another. If anyone wants to come and get it (for the bargain price of $3 a fundraising bag), feel free to drop on by.

In the meantime, whilst it wasn't the most thrilling day for eating it felt good to finally finish off the leftovers from the picnic we had at home the other night (meant for the moonlight cinema, but it rained). It's kinda like finishing a tube of toothpaste or jar of moisturiser (I don't mean through ingestion). By the end of it you're kind of over it, but it feels like an accomplishment to empty it so you can start something fresh and new.

Anyway, here's today:

Breakfast
Frozen fruit, 1 slice burgen bread w/ peanut butter & glass of skim milk

Lunch
2 leftover chicken wings and a bread roll with Nuttelex

Afternoon Tea
Sweet Honey Chai Latte & Carmen's Muesli Bar

Dinner
Stirfry w/ rice noodles (plus about 4 pieces of half raw meat as it was cooking).
I am a raw meat fanatic. Being pregnant and not being able to eat meat dripping with blood was torture.

My Eat Like Me (9/3/09)

Ok, I don't really expect anyone to eat like me. In fact for the most part it's probably better if you don't. My blog post title is influenced by another blog I read occasionally entitled 'Eat Like Me' by Cristin Dillon. Cristin is a registered dietitian who blogs absolutely everything she eats, every single day to give people some insight into how someone who has studied nutrition eats.

Cristin's blog is really great as it shows how someone trying to make good choices eats at home, at a restaurant, at a basketball game, on holidays, at a wedding, etc. I don't know how she does it, but I have decided to give it a go for the next week. I'm actually hoping it will encourage me to eat the right thing. There is no way I want to come on here and tell the world I ate an entire bag of mini easter eggs (fundraising chocolates are so evil) so if I know I have to tell someone then I may just not eat it in the first place. I guess in a weeks time I'll tell you how effective it is.

Breakfast
Frozen fruit, 1 slice burgen bread with peanut butter

This is my breakfast most mornings as it is quick and covers a few food groups. Usually I have glass of skim milk with it as well, however I actually forgot this morning.

Lunch
Chicken in sticky orange & tomato glaze (1 drumstick, 1 wing) and left over salads consisting of things like pasta, pumpkin, pumpkin, chick peas, sundried tomatoes, cucumber, onion, etc

Afternoon Tea
Regular Caramelatte with skim milk from Gloria Jeans

Dinner
Bread roll with butter, salmon and mixed veggies

I ate about 3/4 of the salmon and gave the rest to Jonathan.

So, if you are checking my blog, expecting pictures of the girls and don't care what I eat, sorry, but you'll be getting some more of it over the next few days. It's my blog :)

The Mind Of A Four Year Old

I saw this questionnaire on Facebook and decided to attempt it with Malia and post it here seeing as our family and friends read this blog more than they check my Facebook page.
